Volunteer Center “CHORNOBYL”

The Volunteer Center CHORNOBYL, established in 2020 to support extinguishing massive fires in the Chornobyl zone, institutionalized more than a decade-long humanitarian activities of CHORNOBYL TOUR’s personnel, experts, supporters and fans. It stemmed from CHORNOBYL TOUR’s actions to eliminate psychological and social consequences of the Chornobyl accident, using tourism as a practical tool to overcome the Chornobyl trauma, to show the victory of the Chornobyl liquidators, to help the zone self-settlers, liquidators (mitigation workers) and residents of the territories, adjacent to the Chornobyl zone.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war in 2022:

– providing the intelligence about the enemy – at first from the surveillance cameras on the route of the invaders and later from the local population of the occupied area – to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army

– help to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Volunteer Battalions of Territorial Defense (medicine, equipment, products, radiation protection);

– help to medical institutions and family doctors of Kyiv and the Kyiv region (medical equipment, medicine, logistics, search for qualified personnel);

– help to the civilian population near the Chornobyl zone in Ivankiv district and cities of Slavutych, Chernihiv and Lyubech (humanitarian aid, psychological assistance, evacuation);

– humanitarian aid to the liberated villages in the Chornobyl area, to the inhabitants of Kharkiv and to the refugees from Kharkiv;

– information work in the national and international media, commenting on the situation at the nuclear facilities of Ukraine, preventing panic and raising morale of the population, conducting special information-psychological operations

– conducting professional training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, State Emergency Services, National Guard and National Police, medical services, etc. in the rules of safe work in radiation-contaminated territories and actions in case of nuclear or chemical attack ;

– creation of the exhibition “RESISTANCE” in CHERNOBYL HUB in Kyiv, which collects donations for Ukrainian civilians and military;

– eliminating the debris of destroyed houses in the Kyiv region

Before the beginning of the full-scale war in 2022:

In the Chornobyl zone:

– help to the Chornobyl zone self-settlers;
– free trips to Chornobyl for the liquidators;
– free educational trips to Chornobyl for the residents of the adjacent region;
– free trips to Pripyat for former Pripyat residents;
– reconstruction and preservation of monuments and objects of the Chornobyl zone;
– cleaning the territory of the Chornobyl zone tourist locations from litter;
– feeding Chornobyl stray dogs.

EuroMaidan-2014 (Revolution of Dignity):

– supported the protesters with food and supplies
– led excursions to the Maidan in Kyiv for foreign guests and media
– after victory of the revolution and start of the war in the east of Ukraine, raised and delivered aid to the Ukrainian military there.

Extensive fires in the Chornobyl zone in 2020:

– raised and delivered aid to firefighters;
– raised and delivered humanitarian aid to residents of affected villages around Chornobyl in the Zhytomyr region;
– provided financial help to the Chornobyl Biosphere Radioecological Reserve for reconstruction after fires;
